Consider reporting the incident. Reporting can aid your recovery and prevent future incidents. Individuals have the right to report incidents of sexual harassment, sexual assault/misconduct, dating/domestic violence, and stalking to law enforcement, to the University, and to confidential support resources.
If you are a University faculty/staff member and are making a report as a Responsible Employee - you must make a University Report via the Public Incident Report Form.
In support of the University's efforts to provide an environment that is safe and free of both harassing and discriminatory behavior, ISU follows up on all reports of sexual harassment, sexual assault/misconduct, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking, including those received from campus and community law enforcement agencies.
Individuals who make a report to law enforcement or directly to the University will receive an email from the Office of Equal Opportunity and Access (OEOA) containing information about campus and community support resources, detailing the investigation process, and explaining individual rights. Individuals may be asked to meet with OEOA to review this information and to determine participation in a University investigation. Meeting with OEOA and/or participating in a University investigation is voluntary, however it is encouraged. The University’s ability to respond to the incident may be limited without participation from the Complainant.
In addition to the voicemail service described above, the University has also partnered with NAVEX EthicsPoint,a third-party reporting service, to provide an option for individuals to share concerns 24 hours a day, seven days a week, either online or via a toll-free telephone number. While we prefer that you use existing campus reporting methods, this reporting service is another way you can voice concerns, especially when you wish to remain anonymous. As with the voicemail service above, given the anonymous nature of these reports, in certain instances the University may be limited in its ability to respond to an allegation, including initiating an investigation or taking protective measures.
When you make an anonymous report via the EthicsPoint website or the toll-free telephone number, you will receive a unique reference number that you may use to report back and answer any follow-up questions. To make an anonymous report, please complete the electronic form on the Ethics Point Website or call 833-254-2202.
EthicsPoint is NOT a 911 or Emergency Service. Do not use this site to report events presenting an immediate threat to life or property. Reports submitted through this service may not receive an immediate response. If you require emergency assistance, please call 911.
All Responsible Employees are still required to report reportable crimes and incidents (including but not limited to sexual harassment, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, sexual assault, etc.) appropriately by following the required University procedures. An anonymous report via EthicsPoint does not satisfy such requirements. To determine if you are a Responsible Employee, identify reportable crimes and incidents as well as required reporting procedures, please visit the Equal Opportunity Mandatory Reporting Website or contact the Office of Equal Opportunity and Access by phone at (309) 438-3383 or via email at EqualOpportunity@IllinoisState.edu.
